Rare Books, Maps or Artifacts to Sell?
We help discerning collectors around the world circulate rare books, manuscripts, maps, and artifacts by placing them in the hands of libraries, museums and private collections on our Want Lists.
With every rare book offer, we need to know
- The author's name
- The title exactly as it appears on the printed title-page (inside the book, not on the front cover)
- Edition number if stated
- The place of publication, name of the publisher, and date if any
- The binding (leather, boards, cloth, dust jacket, etc.)
- Any major defects (torn leaves, stains, broken joints, etc.)
Photographs and Video
We will need to see at least two photographs of each item: the printed title page and the binding. We will also want to see any inscriptions or book plates, and any areas of obvious damage. Please don't crop the pictures – we need to see the edges. Facetime and video calls will be an option on select offers once a form has been submitted.
Valuation & Appraisals
To accurately provide an offer on your book, our team bases your special book's value on previous sale amounts, number of compareables on the market, and condition to name a few indicators. For a more comprehensive valuation, our appraisers can offer this additional service to qualifying works.
Expected Response Time
Our inbox receives a heavy influx of both common and rare book offers daily. This means that only books of interest will be responded to. If you have not heard from our team within 10 days, it is safe to assume we are not interested at this time. We will always respond via phone and email with an offer.
What Piques Our Interest?
Rare early print works, first editions, signed material and well-known titles by major authors in collectible condition. If the book does not fit our collection, we would be happy to connect you with our international network of collectors and dealers.
