Vivifica’s special collections began deep in the Himalayan mountains of Nepal. In 2009, Kyle X. Mufti embarked on a trip through the rural regions and city centre of Kathmandu. The Gaurishankar monastery’s illuminated magickal manuscripts, many of which had not been accessed for centuries. Dusty scrolls illustrated a deeper insight of our ancient history and lost knowledge in various regions of Asia and the Middle East. Enamored by the discoveries, ritualistic artifacts and rare Tibetan scriptures were diligently exported to Toronto, Ontario, Canada where they remained quietly studied and archived until 2022. After over a decade of seeking truth, Kyle came into a deep relationship with Jesus Christ which has fostered and inspired our Christian archive of rare books and manuscripts today.

Vivifica's storefront was opened in Oshawa, Ontario with a mission to circulate and revive early print works prior to the 17th century. We have spent that last decade curating a collection that specializes in religious works from around the world. Kyle has spent the last decade traveling state to state and Canada wide meeting booksellers and private collectors along route. He has had the privilege of accessing rare archives in libraries and museums throughout North America, witnessing preservation and acquisition techniques first hand. Kyle's scholarly interest lies in the histories of knowledge systems and their material artifacts: books, manuscripts, and related information technologies within libraries, archives, and digital or ephemeral materials, focusing and reviving sacred objects of rare literature and artifacts in all specialty fields across all faiths of beliefs.

Kyle X. Mufti - Founder & President

Kyle is a Canadian businessman, philanthropist and student of Jesus Christ . He established one of Canada’s largest concrete construction operations with North American Construction Alliance before retiring to the world of bookselling in 2019. Kyle holds a PhD from the University of Southampton and has focused Vivifica's collection of rare books and artifacts around Christian history. His reputation as an international collector and theologian eventually led to the instance of selling and circulating parts of Vivifica's early collection. Kyle found a joy in seeing others complete their quest for knowledge, reviving works thought to be permanently out of circulation. This resulted in Vivifica’s incorporation in 2022 with the opening of an 5,000sqft rare bookstore immediately after.
